Nothing like a moody, rainy day to focus attention on a newsletter! As the season gets closer, we have some updates to share with you.

MEET THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM!

Jenni Hogan has been an instructor and manager at ski schools all over the world and joined the Jackson team last season.  As a member of the children’s ed staff, she is excited to bring her passion teaching children to the Kid’s Ranch.  She plans to bring adventure to our tiniest students through playing to learn and creating memorable skiing experiences.  In the summer, she enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and reading.

Carter Mardiney will be keeping Matt Floyd company in the Snowboard School. With 10 years of experience in the industry and recent nomination to the Intermountain AASI Ed Staff, Carter will bring great energy and professionalism to the program. This will be Carter’s 7th season with the MSS. When asked for comment Carter replied, “I think about snowboarding all the time”!

Rounding out the Pioneer program as a Supervisor is Jake Gregory. Jake has been part of the MSS since 2019. His experience managing Teton Whitewater as well as coordinating events for the Redside Foundation in Teton County will lend itself well to the daily rigors of running a robust ski/snowboard program. He is mid-way through attaining his Level 3 alpine.

The Explorers team will welcome Jake Vanderwell to their family this season. Jake’s last three years in the Pioneer supervisor position make him uniquely qualified to move to the Explorer spot. Serenity within chaos and a keen, empathetic ear are characteristics that will serve him well at Solitude. He finished his SB Level 2 last season and will be on the hunt for the Level 3 this season.

OFFERS ARE OUT!!

We hit send on our returning staff offers on Sept 24th; you should have received that via email. If you expect to receive an offer and haven’t yet, please reach out to Meg (Meaghan.lovely@jacksonhole.com) or Lexey (Lexey.wauters@jacksonhole.com).

A couple of things to keep in mind:

  • If you believe your pay to be incorrect, please first check the wage calculator available on the MSS website- Points Wage Scale | MSS Employees. Plug in your data to check your points and pay group designation. If it still looks different than your offer, please reach out to Lexey (Lexey.wauters@jacksonhole.com), Ann (ann.schorling@jacksonhole.com) or Paul (paul.franzeim@jacksonhole.com). Do this before you respond to your offer.

  • If you want to adjust your status, accept your offer. You will have an opportunity to indicate the adjustment you desire. You can review all status requirements on the MSS website- Status, Schedules, Benefits | MSS Employees. Requests for a bump up in status require a review by the supervisor.

  • Once you complete your MSS offer response, you will follow a link to complete an ‘Intent to Return’ form that is an HR requirement. That link is available on the ‘submit’ page as you finish your response. After you complete and submit the ‘Intent to Return’ form, you will receive a follow-up ‘HR Offer’ to complete. There may be a slight delay until you receive that.

  • After you have accepted your ‘HR Offer,’ you will receive an invitation to set your onboarding appointment. The first batch of onboarding appointment sign-ups are being sent this week.

  • Submit your schedule request form! The link to do that is- MSS Schedule Request Form W26-27 – Fill out form

MSS WEBSITE

You can now register for the employee-only portion of the MSS website. This will give you access to the instructor look up function, a staff message board, and the Management Announcements board. Soon you will also be able to view your personal uniform details, request a nametag and track the status of it, and access your locker assignment under "My Profile". Once you accepted your offer you should have received an email with a link to register. You can also register directly on the home page. Go to the site- Home | MSS Employees- and click on Log In (upper left-hand corner). This will prompt you to set your username and password. You should use the email address where you receive your newsletters. You set your password. The Admin team will then approve each account within a day or two. Off you go!

INSTRUCTOR BOOKED PRIVATES

We are getting previews on the Snowcloud instructor app. This will be your window into schedules, clients, pay records, and where you will be able to book instructor managed days.  This is replacing ProCard. The instructor app will have a lot of capacity and the graphics look great. However, it is not ready for release quite yet. If you haven’t already, please reach out to your clients and start planning their visits with you. We are recommending that instructors start their own calendar to map out their season, and we will get you access to the instructor app to book your guests in Snowcloud later this fall. FYI-  JHMR has a rental gear delivery service. This is a great amenity to add to your guests’ experience. Link here to learn more- JH Ski Delivery - Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

EMPLOYEE SEASONAL PROGRAMS AND RENTALS

Seasonal programs (Scouts, Rangers, TVR, etc) for employees will be available for registration on Nov 1. Once they are available, Marketing will send out an email to all summer and winter employees letting you know how to purchase. Hoback Sports has launched their seasonal gear rental program. Check out the link to get information- Kids Seasonal Ski Lease | Hoback Sports. Please note- due to the already beneficial pricing Hoback has for this program, further employee discounts are not offered. It will be highly appreciated if you do not bug them about this!
