Spring sure has been long in coming…Carol Viau and Ryan Ravinsky (not pictured) practicing for the upcoming Single Pitch Instructor exam on the steps of the Bridger Center as it snows in Teton Village. Fortunately, the weather has (mostly) shifted and we are fast preparing for the summer MSS activities to open.

Via Ferrata Incentive Program

ree

Last summer we launched a pilot program to incentivize our large winter team (that’s YOU!) to help let summer guests know about our MSS activities. We are thrilled to expand this and invite you to participate. We are focused on increasing participation at the Via Ferrata. The Via Ferrata is a guided, assisted-climbing adventure that takes place in Casper Bowl. It’s a great way for the summer guest to get up high in the mountains, self-propelled, in a guided experience. To any interested staff (that’s YOU!) we will issue business cards that act as both a discount voucher for the guest (10%) and an incentive receipt for you. The incentive structure is still being approved. Mountain money cards with your accrued balance will be issued twice. The first issue will be mid-August and the second at the beginning of the 24-25 winter season. If you would like to participate reach out to either Lexey (lexey.wauters@jacksonhole.com) or Whit (whitney.roof@jacksonhole.com).

Season Pass and Youth Program Sales

In a nod to Jackson skiers and riders that live and work here, JHMR offered its first ever exclusively in-person season pass sale in early May. On-line sales for passes started May 15th to accommodate our out-of-town skiers and riders. This greatly reduced the hustle for passes that the last couple of years has produced. The 10-day and full Grand Passes are sold out (as of June 2) with the Peak Pass, Grand By-Pass, Mid-Week By-Pass and the 10-day By-Pass still available. If you have clients that usually purchase passes for their lift access, be sure to reach out to them. These other pass types will most likely sell out and we want to be sure our MSS guests are set for next winter!

Youth seasonal programs are LIVE and for sale. As employees, MSS staff get an amazing discount on this program. MSS strongly supports our staff by holding spots for our staff children. However, several of the days in some of our programs are sold out for the general public. We encourage you to purchase your child’s program as soon as you are comfortable so that we can more closely assess availability and work on getting some of the names off the wait list. Your link to purchase is here.

Summer Camp for JHMR employee children!

Summer Camp starts on June 10th. This day-long program includes bungee tramp, rock wall, full lift access, Ropes Course (for kids 7 and above), hiking, yard games, creative activities, theme days and LUNCH. It runs from 8 to 4 Monday through Friday. There is an employee price for all summer and winter (last season) employees. Reservations are required and the link to book is here.

Bob Osborne Celebration

A celebration of life for Bob Osborne will be held at Owen Bircher Park (in Wilson) Saturday June 8. Bob was a passionate skier and biker and was a loooong time member of the MSS family. He was an ‘early adopter’ of the BYO Local’s group product, corralling the Old Dogs group (one of the originals) for many years. Please come celebrate ‘Oz’ this Saturday at Owen Bircher Park from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Peter Wuerslin Celebration

The following Saturday, June 15th, will be a gathering to celebrate the extraordinary life of Peter Wuerslin. This gathering will take place in Teton Village at the Walk Festival Hall. Peter was also a looooong time member of the MSS family (since 1978) with a rich life history of travel, invention and tinkering with gear. He was married to Cindy Wuerslin, another MSS family member and adventure buddy. The slide show will start at 2:30 pm with comments to start at 3:00 pm. Attendees are invited to let Cindy know if they have a story they would like to share. Here is a link to the story that the News and Guide ran highlighting Peter’s well-lived life: Wuerslin, inventor who biked the world, dies at 71.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at one or both of these events. The strength of the MSS community is never more evident as when we are drawn together to honor and celebrate one of our own. See you there.

-MSS Management Team
