Fall is out and winter is roaring IN! The rumble of the snow guns at the Village is surely one of those sounds that will make a skier or rider smile.

Admin Updates:
Thank you to everyone that has responded to their job offer. We are standing at a 91% response rate which is outstanding! If you haven't yet, please book your onboarding appointment HERE. All staff must complete onboarding before you begin work or training. Please email julia.knowles@jacksonhole.com if your schedule conflicts with the available appointment times.

MSS welcomes Antonia Walsh as our new admin coordinator! Toni joined MSS this summer as a Via Ferrata guide and Ropes Course attendant after working at Café 6311 last winter. You will likely see her during your onboarding at the Ram Building along with returners James and Julia, or in New Hire Orientation as she trains up to teach a few ski lessons on the side, too. Welcome, Toni!
Schedule Requests
Instructors, please complete your Schedule Request Form HERE no later than November 22nd if you haven't already. The sooner you get your request in, the more likely that we can accommodate your request. Please remember that we may not be able to accommodate all requests, and final schedules will be based on business needs. After November 22nd, we will assign schedules based on business needs and staffing gaps. If you still need to discuss your status or scheduling with a supervisor, please reach out the contact person named in your job offer.
Training Info:

The early season training calendar has been published, and you can register on ProCard. Please remember fall training is required and paid. Enroll now to ensure you get into your preferred topics and dates. New hires without ProCard access will receive an email packed with training info from Paul in the next week.
Operations trainings are specific to each product zone (Cody House, Solitude, Snowboard, Privates) and are generally scheduled Tuesdays/Thursdays through mid-December. Fall Training topics are also scheduled and open for registration now. Sign up early to access your preferred topics and dates. If you plan to fulfill your PSIA/AASI CEU requirement via JHMR fall training, eligible clinics are on 12/2 and 12/7. Remember, you MUST register with PSIA AND sign up via ProCard to register successfully for these clinics specifically.
MSS Academy are elective training topics also listed on ProCard Training. Registration for these will open two weeks in advance. These three-day clinics are a fantastic way to grow your skill set, get a solid foundation for the new season, and fully immerse yourself in the profession you love. Two events require external registration during the Academy. You must register for the Alpine Level 1 with PSIA. Also- keep an eye out for info on a Level 1 Avalanche Course specifically for MSS staff. We will post on ProCard Messaging when details are finalized for this AAI course.
Lastly, be on the lookout for the November lecture series. These midday lectures will help get your winter kick-started and it’s a great way to accrue some early season training hours. Check the training calendar on ProCard for more info.
Events & Other News:
Winter supervisors will be back at work, with their JHMR emails up and running, on November 9th. You may reach out to them as needed after that time. These first few weeks of November are packed with work for the supervisors- we urge you to make an appointment for a call or visit so we can be sure to give you our full attention. Find info on supervisors by product zone HERE.
As introduced in the July newsletter, MSS is adopting dynamic pricing this season. This means that our products’ prices will vary with the date of the lesson (high season vs. regular season) and the date purchased (preseason vs in-season purchase). Please encourage your clients to purchase their lessons and lift access early for the best pricing!
Events:
Back for the 2022-23 season... an in-person all-company KICKOFF event! We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s smiling stoked faces on December 6th. Save the date as we await further details!
The JHMR Employee Sale will run at Jackson Hole Sports on December 1-7th. Pick up your employee season pass before attending to attain your employee sale discount at checkout.

And for your build-the-stoke moment today, here is a long-term forecast map issued by OpenSnow- “Triple Dip La Nina” looks likely to be on its way here and we are smack in the predicted flow! Cross your fingers and tune your fat skis. It could be a big one…
